Apr. 20 – “Spies and professors In Kadar’s Hungary ” (Le Lettere, 2014) is the title of a volume authored by Alberto Indelicato that will be presented Wednesday, April 29 (6pm) at the Italian Cultural Institute of Budapest, within the series of meetings “Testimonianze diplomatiche italiane.” Ten years after the ill-fated anti-Soviet and anti-communist uprising in the Fall of 1956, a young Italian diplomat – Alberto Indelicato – observes the daily life of an apparently “normalized” Hungary, that is attempting to gain new legitimacy in the face of the international company, under the guidance Janos Kadar. Indelicato, a diplomat from l954 to l997, served in Innsbruck, Vienna, Buenos Aires, Budapest, and Paris. He was ambassador to UNESCO (Paris), to the German Democratic Republic (1987-1990), at the International Atomic Energy Agency, and at the United Nations Agency for the fight against drugs and organized crime (Vienna, 1994-1997) .
