Würzburg – The first steps towards next-generation devices for early and noninvasive medical and pharmacological diagnosis were revealed by researchers of the Physics Department of the Politecnico di Milano. The research is based on nano-antennae for light, that may in the future be applied to the diagnosis of serious diseases such as cancer or type I diabetes. The study, published in the prestigious Nature Nanotechnology, was conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Photonics and Nanotechnology of the National Research Council and with the Universities of Brescia and Würzburg, in Germany.
