Apr. 29 – “The collaboration with China in the field of training is strategic for the development not only of the University but of the whole territory,” confirmed the Dean of the University of Macerata Luigi Lacchè. The Marche university is making the most of its internationalization push by strengthening its ties with China. The Italian University recently announced new important developments during a meeting Macerata with a delegation from Beijing Normal University. Among the delegation members, there were also Xiao Kai, director of the Confucius Institutes, and Zhu Ruiping, dean of the School of Chinese Language and Culture. They met with the Dean, the directors of the Confucius Institute in Macerata, Giorgio Trentin and Chunyou Yan, with director of the China Center, Francesca Spigarelli, and general manager Mauro Giustozzi. The meeting saw the counterparts discuss the creation of a dual master’s degree between the two universities in Chinese language studies. The location of the course could be the historic Macerata building of Villa Lauri, that could accommodate a permanent college of Normal University.
