May 19 – Piedmontese companies are in Amsterdam for the 2015 edition of PLMA’s World of Private Label, which will take place today and tomorrow. World of Private Label is the most important event dedicated to companies from around the world showcasing products for consumers with the label of the distributer and not that of the manufacturer. There are 12 participating companies from Piedmont: 7 from Turin, 3 from Cuneo, one from Novara and one from Vercelli. Participation t is part of the integrated supply chain (Pif) Piedmont Food Excellence project managed by the Centre for internationalization (Cei Piemonte), commissioned by the Region of Piedmont, Unioncamere Piemonte and the Chambers of Commerce of Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta, and in collaboration with the Foreign Centre of the Maritime Alps. The number of applications to participate in the event grows every year because new companies and products are trying to enter this type of market, interesting for those products with high added value such as Tuttovo’s biological dressings. Tuttovo products will be on display for the first time at the PLMA event alongside more established firms like Nutkao and Fiorentini Alimentari, who have been attending since the first Piedmont collective participation 20 years ago. In Europe, the products sold under brand distributors are well positioned and now hold an average share of 30% (Nielsen). This is because of the value in terms of savings, which simply translates into lower prices compared to branded products; and because of the guarantee of product safety, increasingly perceived by consumers as a value added.
