Phnom Penh – About 200 international missions in 20 countries, more than 30,000 admissions, and 8,000 performed surgeries. Not to count the training of health personnel, the export of new clinical and surgical protocols, the implementation of ad hoc structures to reach and treat the largest number of children suffering from serious diseases. This is a photograph of the Children’s Hospital Bambin Gesù’s international activity of recent years, whose doctors and nurses are present in four continents, providing pediatric care and assistance to needy people and equipping local health workers with the necessary skills to continue to work independently. Doctors and nurses from the Children’s Hospital of the Holy See are currently performing missions in Cambodia, Vietnam, Tanzania, Haiti, Russia, Jordan, Macedonia, Chile, and Venezuela. Over time, health cooperation interventions also took place in Lebanon, El Salvador, Montenegro, Albania, Peru, Syria, Eritrea, Palestine, Benin, Georgia and Kurdistan. (9Colonne)
