June 23, 2015 – Since the age of Marco Polo, the Serenissima has always been projected into the world. And this vocation is fully expressed in its most famous institution, the Ca ‘Foscari University, which has now launched the School for International Education, open to international students who study in Venice. For the academic year 2015-2016, the school will offer new courses, with specific programs throughout the year for foreign students who want to enroll in master degrees at Ca ‘Foscari. The School also enhanced its summer offer by continuing international collaborations with Harvard and Columbia University, and it has activated an annual program for Chinese students within the Marco Polo / Turandot project. “Given its internationalism vocation and the experience gained over the years – explains a statement released by the university – Ca ‘Foscari is ready to offer international students new services and dedicated training courses. The School will offer preparatory courses for access to degree courses aimed at integrating the cultural and language skills of international students who wish to enroll at the University Ca ‘Foscari, ensuring full compliance with the university’s requirements.” The new features of the School also include synergy with Venetian institutions – Academy of Fine Arts, Conservatory, IED – to offer joint courses for foreign students who are preparing to enroll in the same educational establishments. The Ca ‘Foscari University School for International Education, directed by Professor Alide Cagidemetrio, will continue its Ca’ Foscari Harvard Summer School initiative, which this year celebrates its tenth anniversary with a two-day event: on 26 June a round table “The Genesis of Venice” with the participation of Harvard professor Stephen Greenblatt, Jay Harris and Werrner Sollors; on June 27 the official ceremony of the tenth anniversary, held at Ca ‘Dolfin.
