1 July, 2015 – Emilia Romagna is not known – and appreciated – in the world only for its natural beauty and culinary excellence. Today, Reggio Emilia is ready to export its know-how in the field of humanities with Germany relying on Reggio Emilia for the recruitment of its nursery and kindergarten teachers. The experience of the Special Services Agency Bassa Reggiana, and more generally that of the entire Reggio territory, and the experience gained in the field of education and teaching by the Department of Education and Human Sciences of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia are creating important and promising employment opportunities abroad. In particular, an agreement signed with the Diocese of Limburg an der Lahn (Germany), a reality that brings together about 280 kindergartens, in turn partnered with the City of Frankfurt, will offer 6 graduates in Primary Education, Science and Education in Educational Science, – 3 from the University of Modena-Reggio Emilia and 3 from the Special Services Agency Bassa Reggiana – the opportunity to carry out a period of paid internships in German facilities with a possibility of permanent employment. The departure is scheduled for the spring of 2016. The objective of this agreement, which follows other significant exchange agreements signed by the Special Services Agency Bassa Reggiana with foreign public institutions in Scotland, Sweden, and Turkey, is to make use of specifically trained personnel in preschools in the area of Frankfurt. In this context, the agreement provides for seminars in Germany for teachers, and even architects, to suggest types of reception, management and construction of preschools “suitable for children”, good practices gathered in Bassa Reggiana.
