Bahia Blanca – There are many Dante Alighieri Society committees around the world who are celebrating 2015, for the 750th anniversary since the genius’ birth. Among the many ideas, a really original and eye-catching one is the one put forth by the Argentine Committee of Bahia Blanca, which has organized a cake baking contest on “Dante Alighieri and his body of work.” The selection criteria are: creativity, adherence to the proposed theme, gourmet quality of the product but also aesthetic impact of the decorations. The competition is open to all Italian language educational centers in the region. The best cake chef wins a scholarship to attend an Italian language and culture course at the “Dante Alighieri” School of Italian Language in Camerino, in the province of Macerata, as well as a series of guided tours in major Italian art cities.
