Abu Dhabi – With 68 extra flights per week than expected in the recovery plan, Alitalia confirms its position as first operating company in Sicily. The three-year plan to relaunch Alitalia decided to attach to the airport of Catania one of the new intercontinental flights scheduled for 2016. Catania will now be connected to Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, one of the fastest growing countries in the world. The new non-stop links with Abu Dhabi will connect Catania with the Etihad Airways network, offering important opportunities for the development inbound and outbound of passenger traffic, with destinations in India, the Far East and Australia.
