14 August, 2015 – “Dante, an open book” is an exhibition that from 20 August 2015 to 26 June 2016 will be on display at the Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek in Weimar. The occasion is the 750th anniversary of great poet’s birth. In Goethe’s times, the Italian poet and his works were the subject of an intense work of rediscovery, as illustrated by the plethora of editions and translations, illustrations and portraits of the author, as well as numerous examples of imitations. The exhibition – as the title suggests – will show Dante Alighieri with an open book, highlighting the link between the stratification of his work and the complexity of his thought. (Cle)
