September 18th, 2015 – Don’t confuse it with lap dancing: pole dancing is as acrobatic sport that requires discipline, physical preparation and effort. Iamad Boari, 34 year-old from Rome tomorrow will fly to Palma de Mallorca to participate in the international competition “Pole Art Spain”. At the event, ongoing until Saturday, Boari presents a choreography and a character that she will impersonate to impress the judges and hopefully win. “I’d like to finish in the top three,” admits Iamad, although, she confesses, “my ultimate goal is to get off the stage and be satisfied with what I did, because it would mean that I am able to convey the power of my character”. Even though she’s been practicing the activity for only four years, for Boari it has become a true life mission: “after the first test lesson, I literally fell in love with this discipline. And I started to teach, to divulge and to compete. Once you start to practice, you won’t stop.” Last year, she arrived third in the Italian championship, she took part in the London World Championship, and won a competition of Pole Art in Switzerland. This year, however, she did not qualify for the Italian championship, but her chance at redemption comes from Spain, where she will interpret a character from the upcoming movie with Will Smith “Suicide Squad”. “I’m ready – says Iamad – to go to Mallorca with determination, because Pole Art is a very exciting discipline, able to express what you have inside.”
