Hanoi – The cooperation agreement between the Italian Ferrovie dello Stato and VNR – Vietnam Railways, the Vietnam railway company, is officially in effect. The agreement was signed by the FS CEO, Michele Mario Elia, and the Director General of VNR, Vu Tó Tùng. The agreement provides for the development of cooperation between the two railway companies, especially for consulting, training and technical assistance activities. Further opportunities for FS could emerge in Vietnam in the metropolitan transport sector, with regard to staff training and the creation of a master plan for the city of Hanoi. The Vietnamese railway network consists of 2,652 kilometers, of which much with a narrow gauge. The main line is the north-south axis from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh (1700 km). (9Colonne)
