October 22nd, 2015 – It’s a “long” week for the Italian Language in Sudan thanks to the Italian Embassy in Khartoum, which presented to the Sudanese press and the media its program of events for the 15th edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, which began on Monday, under the common global theme “Italian music, and the musicality of Italian.” In the case of Sudan, the week will be extended for two months, until mid-December, through many cultural events: from music to poetry, cinema and cuisine… “It is certainly exciting to present a cultural offer in a foreign country that is home to a considerable number of Italians. Perhaps even more so when the goal is also to meet the demand of local people and the resident international community, to strengthen the cultural bond with the country that is hosting us. In the case of Sudan, this is precisely our challenge,” said Italy’s Ambassador to Sudan, Fabrizio Lobasso. “Music is the best way to spread Italian culture in the world – continued the Ambassador – and the long series of events will slowly unveil to the Sudanese and all friends of Italy the two main characteristics of our way of being: culture and solidarity, which are two ways to help those in need.” (Red)
