New York – Music and art have had a strong bond throughout Jovanotti’s artistic production and for this reason the singer was invited to the Institute in New York for the 15th edition of the Italian Language Week (this year dedicated to the theme ” Italian music, and musicality of Italian”). His participation in the Foreign Ministry event served as the perfect opportunity to enjoy a personal tour with exhibition curator Bertoli on the 34 works devoted to the Italian pictorial heritage from the 19th century, particularly that of southern Italy, still little known in the United States. Italian Consul General Natalia Quintavalle was also present. Bertoli, art connoisseur of paintings from the 19th and early 20th centuries, has been since 2005 a consultant for the auction house Christie’s, in Rockefeller Center. “Light of Southern Italy” has become in a few weeks an exhibition-event in New York and has also won the honors of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella. The exhibition will run until November 5 sees displaying paintings by many Italian artists from the southern regions, including Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily. Official sponsors of the exhibition are: Eataly; IFIM S.p.A., Milano; Santa Lucia Natural Spring Water; IGT; IMA S.p.A., Bologna; and Luxury Living New York. (9Colonne)
