November 2nd, 2015 – Not only is it the oldest theater in Europe (King Charles III ordered its construction in 1737), it is also one of the most beautiful and prestigious in the world, recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The Teatro San Carlo in Naples, symbol of the city, is ready for international fame. A press conference scheduled for tomorrow at the World Travel Market in London (the most important exhibition for the English-speaking world dedicated to tourism) will present the season. The Region of Campania, at the ENIT stand, accompanies a superintendent of the theater, Rosanna Purchia, to reiterate that the oldest theater in Europe is a cultural excellence, capable of generating and increasing revenues for the territory. The Teatro is a key driver to intercept new tourism flows thanks to a very articulated and differentiated musical proposal, which includes more than 20 titles, including operas and ballets, 23 concerts, three productions for the summer “San Carlo Opera Festival”, more than 150 events overall, an educational calendar with 14 productions for children, distributed in eight different thematic courses.
