Berlin – There’s some good news for the economy of the Viterbo province, which despite the remaining difficulties in the interior design sector, thanks to the productive and industrial agricultural sector, records in the first half of 2015 an exports’ overall increase compared to the same period of 2014 of 16.4%, higher than the regional average (+14.4%) and the national one (+ 5%). The sector that registered a substantial increase in exports was the agricultural sector, which includes agricultural products and products of the food industry, with +58.5% and reaching a share of 39.2% of total exports from Tuscia. In terms of destination countries, Europe remains the main market although there are openings towards other continents. In Europe, exports grew by 24.5%, especially those towards Germany (+38.1%), France (+35.4%), and Switzerland (+29.9%). Conversely, exports to Spain decreased by 21.2%. Exports towards Eastern European countries continued to grow, especially towards: Estonia (+40.4%), Romania (+74%), and Russia (+55.1%). It seems that Tuscia’s products aren’t affected much by the consequences of the embargo and related retaliation between the European Union and the Russian Federation. (9Colonne)
