November 12th, 2015 – Illustrator, visual artist, stage designer and painter, Alice Pasquini is a Roman-born artist who has lived and worked in Britain, France and Spain. Her canvasses are the walls of the cities she crosses. Her murals are in Sydney, Brest, New York, Barcelona, Oslo, Moscow, Paris, Copenhagen, Marrakech, Berlin, Saigon, London, Rome and many others around the world. This exceptionally modern artist will be the protagonist of a meeting scheduled for tomorrow in Uruguay. The Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo (Arenal Grande 1930 esq. Miguelete) in Montevideo opens its doors to the artist for an event – organized by the Italian Institute of Culture of the city – that begins at 5pm. The occasion is the inauguration of an exhibition (a celebration that starts at 7pm) that will feature murals by Alice Pasquini. The meeting – as stated on the website of the Italian Institute of Culture in Montevideo – wants to be “an occasion to reflect urban art and how every day it catches the attention of a wider and heterogeneous audience. In particular, the conference will attempt to take stock of the phenomenon of public art and its evolution: writings on the wall, the distinction between art and vandalism, between propaganda and street art, and the relationship between reality and fiction.” Pasquini participates in urban art events, international festivals, and museum exhibitions worldwide.
