Tehran – New areas of cooperation between Friuli Venezia Giulia and Iran are emerging, especially in the field of science, research and academia. The institutional visit of a delegation from Sharif University in Tehran (one of the largest research centers in Iran in the fields of science and engineering) is currently underway to explore this potential. Accompanied by the Dean of Trieste University Maurizio Fermeglia, the president of Sharif University of Technology, Mahmoud Fotuhi-Firuzabad, the Head of the Physics Department, Vahid Karimipour, and the Director of Industrial Relations, Hossein Mokhtari, called for the strengthening of scientific relations between Friuli Venezia Giulia and Tehran, thanks to the recent signing of special agreement with the University of Trieste. The President of the Region, Debora Serracchiani, will visit Tehran in January, attending talks and meetings geared to target economic issues and new relationships in terms of research and innovation.
