Pretoria – On December 8th took place the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition “Bonna – from my point of view” at the Centre for Art and Crafts of Ga-Rankuwa, in Pretoria. The exhibition is the result of collaboration between the Embassy of Italy in Pretoria, the Tshwane Municipality, in partnership with the NGO Oxfam Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute, UN Volunteers and the South African Open Window College. Twenty-eight students from the elementary school of Rivoningo in Soshanguve, a township north of Pretoria, had the opportunity to be introduced to photography and to describe their daily lives through “different lenses.” Digital cameras have been made available by the Italian Embassy and UN Volunteers, and a workshop was organized in October by OpenWindow students. The project is also connected with the campaign “Vivere da sportivi,” sponsored by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) in collaboration with numerous Italian institutions and associations.
