December 24th, 2015 – Pietro Ruffo is a qualified architect, but his passion for old maps turned him into an artist. A passion that led him to India, where Ruffo exhibits for the first time his works in the exhibit “Terra incognita”, on display until Sunday, January 10 the Italian Cultural Institute in New Delhi. Curated by John Xaviers, the exhibition takes its name from the term used by early cartographers to mark new, unknown or unfamiliar territory. These old maps re used by the Rome-born artist as a canvas for the ethnographic drawings made by imperialists. The exhibition shows the public an era of great explorations for unknown lands and cultures. (Sip)
