Montreal – The exhibition “Bruno Munari, a pioneer of modernity, 1928-1945” lands in Montreal from March 10 to April 17, hosted partly at the Center of Design of the University of Quebec and in part in the Artexte Gallery. The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal, features Bruno Munari’s production (1907-1998), a pioneer of Italian graphics. In its twofold component, the display explores the emergence and nature of modernism in Italy in the first half of the twentieth century. As an artist and designer active in Milan in the late 1920s, Munari embodied in an exemplary way the meeting between the local tradition of modernity represented by the Futurists and the currents associated with European constructivism and new typefaces.
