(8 January, 2016) A delegation of scientific and economic representatives from Friuli Venezia Giulia will be in Tehran January 9-13, led by the Region’s president, Debora Serracchiani. The visit is part of the four bilateral Memoranda of Understanding between Italy and Iran signed in Tehran last November, and comes before the scheduled lifting of economic sanctions on Iran (“implementation day” is expected for mid-January). The objective is to link “economic dialogue with possible new partnerships in the field of science and technology, for the transfer of Italian know-how into the business system, which seems to be a matter of interest for Iran,” pointed out Serracchiani, who on Sunday will inaugurate the event “Contract Made in Italy”, alongside togthe Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hossein Esfahbodi, the Italian Ambassador to Tehran Mauro Tanners, and the CEO of Pordenone Fiere, Pietro Piccinetti. Contract Made in Italy was organized for the second consecutive year by “Destra Tagliamento” thanks to an exclusive five-year agreement that aims to promote Italian companies in Iran, especially in the wood and furniture sectors.
