Valletta – On 27 January, to commemorate Remembrace Day, the Italian Cultural Institute of Valletta proposes the screening of “L’Orologio di Monaco”, a film by Mauro Caputo distributed by Istituto Luce-Cinecittà, sketching a collection of short stories by Giorgio Pressburger, who is also a character and the narrator in the movie. The event will see the participation of the Italian Ambassador to Malta Giovanni Umberto De Vito, the Director of the Italian Institute of Culture Salvatore Schirmo, the representative of the Rome Holocaust Foundation Museum Professor Anna Piperno, and the representative of the International School of Holocaust Studies (ISHS) of the Yad Vashem Museum in Jerusalem, Mr. Yiftach Ashkenazy, specially arrived from Israel. The Jewish Community in Rome kindly granted the patronage of the screening, which will take place simultaneously in different cities in the five continents – creating a global event involving a large part of the network of Italian Cultural Institutes and Italian diplomacy. Audiences in Athens, Barcelona, Chicago, Cologne, London, Istanbul, Ljubljana, Madrid, Prague, San Francisco, Strasbourg, Tel Aviv, Tokyo and Trieste will be able to view the film on January 27.
