(25 January 2016) It’s an animation technique that combines art and theater, and it’s called “Theatre of the Feet.” Halfway between mime and theater of objects, the Italian artist Laura Kibel has brought this technique around the world for the past 20 years. And so, January 18-12 she was in Sudan, participating in a cultural initiative promoted by the Italian Embassy in Khartoum in favor of local schools, cultural centers and international organizations. Thanks to the event, more than a thousand Sudanese children from five different schools were able to take part in the animation prepared by the artist. “The natural appeal of this unique type of art is its ability to transmit ethical messages (respect for nature, animals, brotherhood, cooperation),” commented the Italian Ambassador in Khartoum, Fabrizio Lobasso.
