Bogota – The Secretary to the Ministry of Justice Cosimo Maria Ferri is visiting Bogota to start the negotiation of three agreements on judicial cooperation, extradition and transfer of sentenced persons. The Italian delegation first met its Colombian counterpart at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, holding talks with Deputy Justice Minister Carlos Medina Ramirez. These agreements, once finalized and signed, will help to strengthen the international friendship and cooperation between the two countries, with particular emphasis on the fight against organized crime, drug trafficking, corruption and money laundering. The agreements also include joint actions and concrete contrast operations. The delegation also visited the Casa de Libertad of Bogota, an area officially established in 2015 to promote and develop educational programs for the peaceful resolution of conflicts and family violence; host recreational and cultural events for the improvement of social relations; improve the relationship between the community and institutions; and develop sports and cultural programs in violent areas.
