(3 February 2016) It’s a truly Italian habit that amazes and fascinates around the world: talking about food and good eating habits. Elena Kostioukovitch, Italian-Ukrainian writer and translator, knows something about it, and she lays it out for us in a new book, entitled “Why Italians like to talk about food” (originally released in 2006 but republished last year for Odoya and Teckel Books). Kostioukovitch’s book will be presented in Sofia on Monday, February 8 t 5pm at the Peroto Literary Club. The event is organized by Avliga publisher, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of the city. An essay by Umberto Eco introduces this journey in the art of living well that only someone who has dedicated her life to learning and understanding Italy could deal with in objectivity. Kostioukovitch, writer and translator who has lived in Italy for years, in the book observes and discovers the different soul of being Italian. (PO / SIP)
