Antartica – The Galileo receptors, installed thanks to the project “Demostrator of Gnss Research and Application for Polar Environment” (Demogrape), recently observed a ionospheric storm in Antartica. Kicked off in May 2014 and coordinated by the Istituto nazionale di geofisica e vulcanologia (Ingv) and funded by the Ministry of Education, University and Research, the project is part of the National Research Program in Antartica. Demogrape wants to develop a service prototype for the use of satellite positioning systems in polar regions. (9colonne)
