(3 February 2016) The charm of Italian art extends well beyond national borders, to arrive in Morocco, where the Italian Cultural Institute of Rabat is hosting a conference dedicated to the Doge’s Palace, symbol of the city of Venice, a masterpiece of Gothic art. On 10 February at 6.30pm at the Institute’s headquarters, Professor Sabrina Favaro will detail the artistic features of the palace, located in the monumental area of Piazza San Marco, which testifies, with its architectural and ornamental style, to the layered and complex historical period between the Middle Ages and Mannerism. Its wealth, on the other hand, indicates the strength of the commercial and cultural relations the Republic of Venice had with the rest of the world at that time. (PO / SIP)
