(4 February 2016) Work, experience, and growth. Many young Italians decide to leave their home country for London, facing certain difficulties, especially at the beginning, that are now being addressed by the program “First Landing.” Reaching out to these young talents who recently moved to England and Wales, the Consulate General of Italy is organizing a series of meetings that provide “new immigrants” with helpful advice and valuable suggestions. Through seminars led by experts, the intention is t help “newcomers” operate with greater awareness and effectiveness in the English context. “First Landing – Primo Approdo” – as stated on the Consulate’s website – kicked off 2016 with a meeting yesterday, held at the offices of the Consulate General of Italy in London (83/86 Farringdon Street, EC4A 4BL). The first meeting of the year covered the usual topics ranging from writing an effective CV to job hunting, and “also focused on the search of accommodation upon one’s arrival in London, learning to navigate the jungle that is London’s real estate market”. The First Landing meeting also distcussed the subject of health: how the NHS works, what one needs to do to receive their NIN,and how to choose their own GP.” (Red)
