(10 February 2016) Pisan businesses are discovering the many investment and business opportunities available in Malta, as all these elements were detailed in a meeting held in Pisa, and organized by the Chamber of Commerce, which saw the participation of businessmen and industry professionals. The opening session saw the President of the Chamber of Commerce Valter Tamburini point out that “the Maltese market represents a real opportunity for our area. There are a lot of cultural similarities but there is also a community of economic interests, factors that open up space for the new settlement of Pisa businesses in the heart of the ‘Mare Nostrum’. An intention that seems well confirmed by the high attendance level for this meeting.” At the event the Councilor for Productive Activities of the Municipality of Pisa Andrea Ferrante and the Honorary Consul of Malta in Italy, Luca Parenti, were also present. The scene was set by Emmanuel Mazzitelli of Malta Enterprise, the government agency for the promotion of foreign direct investment and industrial development that, among other things, supports and helps enterprises in their start up phase. Mazzitelli revealed significant business opportunities for Pisan companies in Malta in various fields: from the green economy to boating, passing by life sciences and digital technology, aeronautics, training, high added value manufacturing and of course tourism. Malta already represents a major market for Italy, which in 2015 exported almost €1.3 billion in goods and services. (Red)
