(18 February 2016) Italian music pierces the air of Argentina once again, this time from the Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires (Marcelo T. de Alvear 1125, C1058AAQ CABA) on May 7 (at 9pm) when Iva Zanicchi will take the stage. The event is sponsored by the Consulate General of Italy in Buenos Aires, the Embassy and the Italian Institute of Culture of the City. Also known as the Aquila di Ligonchio (a fraction near Ventasso, in the province of Reggio Emilia) the Italian singer, presenter and writer continues to be loved and followed abroad: her fame crossed borders, selling millions of records worldwide, from Spain to South America, from Australia to the US, from Japan to the Soviet Union. The Consulate General of Italy in Buenos Aires announced the concert, recalling that Iva Zanicchi participated many times in the Sanremo Music Festival, most memorably in 1969 when she brought home her second victory with the song “Zingara,” performed with Bobby Solo. This victory allowed Iva to represent Italy at Eurovision Madrid with the song “Due grosse lacrime bianche,” with which she reached 13th place. (PO / Red)
