(1 March 2016) Middle East Electricity is the most important event in the Middle East dedicated to electrical plant engineering, production, transmission and distribution of energy, renewable energy sources, lighting, cable and industrial automation. Scheduled in Dubai from today until March 3, the event welcomes a little bit of Italian excellence. Anie Confindustria and the Italian Trade Agency are bringing over 60 Italian companies to the 41st edition of the fair. Thanks to ANIE – the National Federation of electrical and electronic companies – and the Dubai Office of the Italian Trade Agency, Italian companies will take over a total area of 1,000 square meters. The Italian companies in the sector will have the opportunity to access a growing market like that of the United Arab Emirates and to present their technological offer in a unique business opportunity. “Italy has the chance to play an increasingly important role in a key market, that of the United Arab Emirates – said Andrea Maspero, ANIE Vice President for International Affairs – where the electrical engineering and electronics sectors represented by ANIE constitute a share of more than 10% of total Italian exports.” “The Emirates recently launched a long-term economic diversification strategy – continues Gianpaolo Bruno, ITA Dubai Director – aimed at freeing the country from the traditional dependence on oil and gas production. The country is thus attracting significant resources and energies towards high added value sectors, with the aim of creating the conditions for a new development model, based on technology, advanced services and sustainability, within which there are great opportunities for Italian companies”.
