Beijing – The Literary Prize “Echoes from China” is an initiative promoted by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing will promote a deeper knowledge of the Italian language and culture. “Echoes from China” will consist in an annual literary competition aimed at two categories of participants: young adults between the ages of 15 and 25, and adults. While the former will be asked to produce short stories aimed at enhancing exchanges and relations between contemporary Italy and China, the latter will be invited to present a research study in the humanities, social or legal disciplines, or literary translations and short films. The winning works will be rewarded for their original contribution to the knowledge of Italian literature and / or culture. The best works will win their authors a trip to Italy, while the short stories of the five YA finalists will be collected for a publishing series by the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing.
