(5 April 2016) ” ‘Skye’ is a small island in Scotland, with breathtaking landscapes and atmospheres. On that island the songs on my record have definitively taken shape after a long gestation period. That’s why I think of ‘Skye’ as that magical place that everyone keeps in his heart, the home of our soul, where we find shelter from the hustle and bustle, where we can communicate with our more intimate and private sphere, in total freedom . Where can we look in the mirror without being afraid of what we will see.” That’s how Soltanto, the stage name of Matteo Terzi, talks about his album. On Friday, April 8, will be released “Skye” (Cremogen Music / Believe Digital): the latest work of the singer/songwriter street musician. The disc – pre-produced between Milan and Brussels – was born during his last road tour of Europe where he made known his music to thousands of people, selling more than 8000 copies of his first album. And precisely on Friday the Milan busker will present the album live at the Teatro Leonardo in Milan. Soltanto begins to wander around Europe with his guitar in the summer of 2010, after graduating and leaving a steady job. He goes from Lyon (France), up to Tenerife (Canary Islands): a six months trip, through Montpellier, Perpignan, Barcelona, Tarragona, Madrid and other cities where he meets hundreds of people who share his music and offer him hospitality. Back home, starting in the spring of 2011, Soltanto started playing on the streets of Milan and then throughout Italy. In 2012 he releases the first album of unpublished songs, entitled “My House Keys”, having raised 10,000 euros through crowdfunding. For the first time, he plays in closed venues, such as La Salumeria della Musica and Officine Creative Ansaldo in Milan and Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, attracting hundreds of people and selling more than 8000 copies of the album. He rather return to his road tour, though, so he sets off again for Europe. The second album, “Skye”, is the result of this trip. (Red)
