(April 22nd, 2016) Enel, through its subsidiary company Enel Green Power Chile, has completed and connected to the service the wind farm “Los Buenos Aires”, the Group’s first wind power plant in the Bío Bío region in Chile. The wind farm “Los Buenos Aires” is located in Los Angeles, about 500 kilometers south of Santiago, and it has an installed capacity of 24 MW that can generate more than 86 GWh per year. The amount is equivalent to the annual consumption of about 40 thousand Chilean families, and thus it can avoid the release of more than 41 thousand tons of CO2 into the atmosphere every year. The realization of the project is supported by a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) and it required around 55 million US dollars investment funded by resources of the Enel Group. The electricity produced from Los Buenos Aires will be used for supplying the service of the central region of Chile (Sistema Interconectado Central). (Red)
