(19 maggo 2016) Actress and dancer, Cristiana Morganti makes a stop in Dublin. At the Dublin Dance Festival will be staged tomorrow night and Saturday May 21 at Project Arts Centre (Space Upstairs) “Jessica and me” by and with Morganti, prima ballerina of the historical Pina Bausch Tanztheater Wuppertal. “You want me to dance, or would you like to speak?” In “Jessica and Me”, the dancer sports an irresistible charm, talent and a certain comic vein. With her unruly curls and infectious laugh and a pair of stilettos, Morganti offers the public a tantalizing glimpse of her career: from her classical training to her decisive meeting with Pina Bausch, the famous German dancer and choreographer. The show – which has been developed with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Dublin and the Goethe-Institut Irland – is a two-voiced self-portrait: her inner self (Christiana) and her alter-ego (Jessica). Christiana went from getting lost in a swirl to observing herself from the outside with a fierce and relentless humor. A fascinating account of the life of a ballet star – both on and off-stage. (Red)
