Blegny – “We have to be grateful, in Italy, to your parents and your grandparents who with their work in the mines have contributed to Italy’s reconstruction after the war.” With these words Gianna Nannini wanted to thank more than 6,000 spectators of Italian origin who were present at her concert in Blegny on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of Italian immigration in Belgium. In the heart of Euregio, the coal mine of Blegny-Mine, is a true pearl of the mining sites of Wallonia, belonging to UNESCO World Heritage. Gianna Nannini was the special guest on the day of the seventieth anniversary celebrations. The concert was a triumph, and the enthusiastic and moved audience stood from start to finish despite the incessant rain, giving Gianna a real triumph. (9Colonne)
