(July 4, 2016) €1 million to bring the best young researchers from Marche to work in the United States for two years. Minister of Health Beatrice Lorenzin will be in Ancona on July 7 to hear about 9 researchers in Molecular Biology who have won scholarships financed by the Marche Foundation thanks to its Post-Doc Fellowship from 2012 to 2015 in collaboration with ISSNAF, the foundation which united 4,000 Italian scientists in North America. Some have returned to carry out research in the Marche, others have found new opportunities in Milan, others have stayed in the United States to pursue research projects independently and others have published articles in important scientific journals. ‘Great Minds’ that leave Italy and who then return with knew experience and contacts. Their stories will be told on Thursday at Ancona’s Mole Vanvitelliana at the “From Italy to America and back” event. Members of the programme will be speaking at Thursday’s event, including scholarship holders and tutors. They will talk about the possibility of bridging the two countries and inspiring new collaborations that are beneficial to Italian and American research centres. This is an opportunity for a constructive dialogue for institutions and entrepreneurs, that will shed light on new proposals to enhance the potential of research between Marche and the USA. For scholarship, the Marche Foundation contributes approximately €100,000. Three researchers studying the development of start-ups in the biotechnology sector, had their fellowship renewed for a third year, with a 50% contribution from the Marche Foundation. (Red)
