(15 July 2016) With the opening of chapters 23 and 24 of Serbia’s pledge to join the European Union, the Italian Embassy in Belgrade organized the screening of two videos about the contribution of the Italian Development Aid at the Serbs child protection through the financing of the two projects, implemented by the Region of Emilia Romagna and UNICEF. The event, organized in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture in Belgrade, will be held Tuesday, July 19 at the headquarters of the IIC: beginning at 16:30 with “The story of a dialogue between communities”, a film on the “Institutional Strengthening of Social Services” project, and then at 17:00 with a film that explains the “Support for the de-institutionalization of children, particularly those with disabilities, in the Republic of Serbia” program. The projects aim to improve the living conditions of the child population in Serbia and increase the capacity of institutions to intervene on behalf of children through the introduction of policies and innovative services by strengthening the administrative decentralization of social services.
