Brasilia – A few days from the opening of Rio 2016, the Italian Embassy in Brasilia sided with ECPAT Italia Onlus against the sexual exploitation of minors during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, adhering to the campaign launched by the organization. Studies and statistics underline that during major world events, cases of sexual and commercial exploitation of children rise significantly. In this light, the adhesion of diplomatic representation is to be read as a stern reminder of the importance of an appropriate behavior from those who will travel to Brazil to attend the Games.
