(August 3, 2016) Following the amendment to the statutes approved in the Extraordinary Shareholders’ Meeting of AmCham members which was held on 23 June in Milan, American Chamber of Commerce in Italy has officially proposed the current Ambassador of Italy in the United States Armando Varricchio, to assume the position of honorary president of the Chamber, a role previously traditionally held by the US Ambassador in Italy. “I gladly accepted the appointment – said Varricchio -. I consider it a further significant tool for contributing to the development of economic and trade relations between Italy and the United States”. “We are very honored to count the Italian Ambassador to the United States as Honorary President of our Association, demonstrating the ability of the AmCham to further strengthen the transatlantic relationship for the benefit of its network,” commented instead Stefano Venturi, president of AmCham Italy and Hewlett Packard Enterprise CEO for Italy. “The authoritative presence of Ambassador Varricchio in our organization – said Simone Crolla, managing director of AmCham Italy – means to fully implement our statutory mission, that is, the growth of cross-border relations.” (Red)
