Gyor-Gony – From today until Sunday to today the “Formula Student” world championship stops in Gyor-Gony, Hungary. The E-Team Racing Team of the University of Pisa will present its new car, “Kerub”. The car is the result of two years of design and work by the team founded in 2007 by a group of students and doctoral students of Engineering under the supervision of Emilio Vitale, then Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Massimo Guiggiani. The team, led by Paolo Giannotti, is now preparing to face the Italian leg of the Formula SAE, which will take place at the Riccardo Paletti speedtrach in Varano de’ Melegari from today to July 25. Over the years, the team has developed a business-like organization that requires figures coming not only from the departments of engineering, but also from those of Economics, Computing, Languages, etc. Unlike the old car of the team, Kerub is the first car to be equipped with a full aerodynamic package and a Honda CBR 600 four-cylinder engine. The frame is entirely made from steel pipes welded together and is equipped with fully electronic steering wheel controls. The car is able to reach 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. (9Colonne)
