(31 August 2016) Italian music will be the focus of the 9th Dvorak Prague Music Festival thanks to the collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute on September 5. Thursday September 8 at 20:00 in the Dvorak Rudolfinum Theatre, Maestro Gianandrea Noseda will direct the London Symphony Orchestra in the performance of the Concerto for viola and orchestra in B minor op. 104 Antonín Dvorak with the soloist Jiri Barta and the symphony no. 2 in E minor, op. 27 by Sergei Rachmaninov. Saturday, September 24 at 20.00 the National Academy of Santa Cecilia Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Antonio Pappano will perform the Prelude to the opera “La Cenerentola” by Gioachino Rossini, the Violin Concerto and orchestra in D major, op. 35 and Symphony no. 5 in E minor, op. 64 Piotr Iljic Tchaikovsky.
