(August 31, 2016) Jesus Christ Superstar is the winner of the prestigious MusicalWorld Award. The musical was produced by Massimo Romeo Piparo’s Peep Arrow Entertainment was awarded for best international production in the Netherlands in 2016. It is yet another confirmation of the high professionalism of this now sensational Italian edition of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s masterpiece, whose success has lasted 21 years with over 1 million 300 thousand spectators. After tremendous acclaim from audiences and critics from its tour in the Netherlands last (11 sold out performances in Den Haag) the musical was then signed by Piparo and masterfully performed by the great American actor Ted Neeley. This year it won the most votes for the category of international productions, surpassing “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” and “Pippin”. A great recognition of Italian talent from the rest of Europe. It proved to be a musical show of incredible artistic value at the international level that has gone down in history as the most beloved rock opera of all time, thanks to a soundtrack that has accompanied three generations. Jesus Christ Superstar, performed live in English with a live orchestra will continue its European tour in Holland and Belgium starting in December. In February, the musical will travel all of Italy from North to South until Easter, concluding the tour on stage at the Sistina in Rome (Red).
