(23 September 2016) Purchasing managers from around the world will gather in Peru in order to network with other companies exhibiting at the ExpoAlimentaria fair to be held at the Jockey Exhibition Centre in Lima from Septemmber 28 to 30. The event will see the participation, within the framework of the selected Italian delegation, of the OP based in Basilicata which represents 300 producers from five different Italian regions. “Buyers from all around the world are expected to participate in this fair. ExpoAlimentaria has became an established event and reference point for other events dedicated to the agro-food sector in South America” according to Salvatore Pecchia, an agronomist from Asso Fruit Italy. “According to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, agriculture in Peru accounts for 7.6% of national production. It is also among the top ten food production countries in the world food. ” “We will be present with our technical and commercial office in order to have a sufficiently comprehensive idea of the real opportunities that express this area of expertise. Our intention is to strengthen relations with that reality by focusing on mutual publicity like the one that takes place already between Italy and Peru and giving an important opportunity for the globalisation of products from Basilicata and the rest of Southern Italy, as is in the spirit of Asso Fruit Italy.
