Montevideo – The Italians Day, scheduled for Sunday, October 23 at the meeting center of Latu in Montevideo, was declared by the MEC, the Ministry of Education and Culture, of ministerial interest. In addition to the MEC, also came the recognition of the Municipality of Montevideo, the local authority which will host the event next October. This event is part of the scheduled activities for the Week of Italian language in the world and has been partially funded by the Foreign Ministry. It will represent the return of a very heartfelt celebration by the people that was missing for 11 years. Many planned activities: conferences, seminars on migration history and also on the issues of the new migratory flows, stand and socio-cultural activities handled by institutions and associations, cultural and musical offerings, photo exhibition and the presence of the Italian-Uruguayan business sector.
