Rome. “In an ever-changing global landscape marked by conflict and opportunity, team-work abroad is the key to growth and to sustaining businesses in their process of internationalisation. The role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign political actions of the government on the global chess-board are fundamental for accompanying the expansion of Sistema Italia. I am referring to, among other things, an open dialogue with Iran, the continuous efforts to maintain dialogue with Russia, the progressive normalisation of relations with India and the constant efforts to consolidate our relationship with China”. This was Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni’s address to the 5th Panel for International Italy at the Farnesina. The Minister for Economic Development Carlo Calenda, co-chair of the meeting, underlined how international trade has been in crisis for several years, characterised by growth rates inferior to PIL and reinforcing its protective measures.
