(11 November, 2016) Italian language is alive … even around the table! To celebrate the first week of the Italian Cuisine in the World (21 to 17 November), ICoN – a consortium of 18 universities working in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is launching a direct photo challenge to its students, community members, and lovers of Italian culture abroad. The aim is to share their “Italian table”, wherever they are in the world. Anyone who wants to participate can shoot, edit and share photos: all is needed is an Instagram account (or, alternatively, Facebook) and use the hashtag related to the event and #ICoNdimenti #ICoNmondo. The role of the consortium is to bring together all these contributions and share it through their social profiles, as well as on their websites. Joining is easy and fun and open to anyone who wishes and allows anyone want to contribute in implementing the “Italy outside Italy” framework, in one of its most characteristic and beloved aspects. The complete guidelines are on the Instagram profile of the Consortium. The challenge is free and runs until November 27. There will be 1300 events scheduled for the Week in 105 countries around the world, coordinated by 295 embassies, consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes in the Italian Foreign Ministry’s network. The Week was organized by an action team supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, involving public and private actors who represent Italian cuisine.
