(December 23, 2016) 21 prosecutors from China arrived in Abruzzo. The reason? They’ll take part in the training course on the Italian procedural system which was held at the University of Teramo, in agreement with the Government of the Hubei Province of the Republic of China, organized and coordinated by Maria Cristina Giannini, Professor of Criminology and delegate of the Dean to the European and international Mobility. The course has just ended and it was a real success. The Chinese judges, who for three weeks have followed lessons and participated in meetings on the organization of investigative Italian prosecutors and the operating mechanism of the Italian procedural organs, expressed their satisfaction, particularly for the training received. “The prosecutor of Hubei – said Giannini – with whom we had already worked for a meeting on the issue of detention, considering the high level of involvement of the Italian prosecutors in the investigation, requested our University a specific update, because the Chinese judiciary organs are carrying out a reform of the system focusing on improving the system of judicial responsibility of the Court and the Prosecutor of the People, who are their prosecution department. ” “For this reason – continued the professor – I thought it was important to involve some stakeholders in the criminal trial in Italy such as the Republic Public Prosecutor of Teramo, the Police of L’Aquila, the Order of Lawyers of Teramo, the Attorney General’s Office at the Supreme Court and the Attorney General’s Office at the Courts of Appeal of L’Aquila and Rome. ” (PO / red)
