Brussels – The European Commission has published, in its Official Journal (of 17.12.2016), the request of the Marche Consortium for the “Marche” IGP Extra Virgin Oil brand. It’s not a technical, but significant fact: it means that, after years of negotiations, Europe recognizes the peculiarities of extra virgin oil produced in the Marche, informing the EU Member States that within three months of publication, if no objections are received, it will record the brand as European agricultural and food excellence. The publication represents the final phase of the long investigation, supported by the Marche Region to the European Union. (9Colonne)
